  • Capacity individually agreed and validated
  • Usage economics based on your actual workload
  • Only explicitly contracted support and capabilities

One $5 welcome grant per eligible customer, for a single workspace; each workspace can receive only one grant. No expiry. It pays for authenticated metered browser calls only. Phone calls, SMS and numbers require purchased funds. Anonymous demos remain bounded.

Clear rates for what you use

Exact destination quotes are shown before activation or outbound use. The carrier leg bills in full-minute 60/60 increments, matching the carrier billing unit; platform runtime and speech components meter actual seconds and characters of use.

Voice

Component-metered Hosted AI

from $0.21/min

Speech-to-text, model and voice components on the managed stack. Actual native speech audio, model tokens, voice characters, media, carrier, and enabled tool usage are itemized per call.

Outbound everywhere else

Per destination

Priced from that destination's carrier rate; the exact per-minute price is shown before you dial and itemized on the call.

Model, voice, and tools

Usage based

Model output, voice text, and enabled paid tools vary with actual use; there is no universal all-in AI-minute rate.

Bring your own key

Provider billed directly

Bring-your-own provider credentials never fall back to platform credentials. OpenPhonex charges $0 for the STT, model, or voice component using your key; your provider may bill that component directly. Platform runtime, carrier, any remaining managed components, and enabled paid tools still apply.

Outbound to US, Canada, UK & 17 EU countries

$0.05/min

A flat rate for the carrier minutes on calls your agent places to these destinations.

Open source or OpenPhonex Cloud

Get the number from OpenPhonex. Run the voice gateway on your own servers for $0

The gateway software is free — you don't need your own carrier account. Get your phone number from OpenPhonex Cloud, which keeps compliance and billing; you run the voice infrastructure — the media gateway that carries call audio and your AI agent — on your own servers. Running the whole stack on your own carrier account as well is possible later, but needs deeper changes and isn't part of this launch.

Pricing questions

The details that affect your bill

Is OpenPhonex a white-label of someone else's voice platform?

No. The control plane and the agent orchestration — the layer that turns a ringing number into a governed conversation — are ours, not a rebadged US voice-agent service. The gateway that carries your call audio is Apache-2.0 open source — read it at github.com/OpenPhonex/openphonex-gateway, run it on your own servers, and keep media in your region. Media transport uses LiveKit, which is open source too, and the speech, model and voice providers are named third parties you can replace with your own keys — so what leaves your environment is your decision, not a promise we make on your behalf.

Is there a monthly platform subscription?

No. PAYG has a $0 monthly platform fee. Usage and phone-number charges are separate. Your own gateway and BYOK components retain their existing billing treatment; running the gateway does not waive carrier or other applicable charges.

Why can outbound prices vary by destination?

Carrier floors differ by country, network, and number prefix. OpenPhonex applies the published margin formula and shows the destination quote before use instead of hiding it behind one unsustainable global rate.

How is component-metered Hosted AI priced?

Managed calls start from $0.21/min on the cheapest supported stack — the same rate on every plan — then settle from actual speech audio, model tokens, voice characters, media time, carrier destination, and any enabled paid tools. Calls on the higher-quality multilingual voice typically settle closer to $0.30/min. Carrier, model, voice, and tool usage vary, so this is not a universal fixed call price. Bring-your-own keys never fall back to platform keys: OpenPhonex charges $0 for the provider component using your key, your provider may charge it directly, and platform, carrier, any managed components, and tools can still apply.

Are phone-number activation fees included?

Monthly number prices are separate from the plan. Some countries also require registration or one-time carrier fees; those are shown for review before the number is assigned.

Can I try OpenPhonex before paying?

Yes. Eligible customers receive one $5 browser-usage grant, without expiry. Authenticated browser calls consume promotional credit or purchased funds and are limited to 180 seconds per session. Promotional credit cannot pay for phone calls, SMS, number rental, transfers or withdrawals.

How is usage paid?

Top up your prepaid wallet with a one-time payment. Calls reserve a hold and settle to their actual itemized amount, releasing the unused hold. Running out of welcome credit does not enroll you in a subscription: add funds and remain on PAYG. Optional auto-recharge charges your saved card only after you explicitly enable it.

What does recording storage cost?

Call recordings are included up to 100 MiB per workspace. Beyond that, storage bills $0.01 per additional MiB.
